Reading & Writing 7-12 Endorsement

The Reading & Writing 7-12 Endorsement is intended for middle and high school teachers who wish to be qualified as teachers of middle and high school readers and writers who need extra support from a specialist. This program does not lead to certification for high school teaching of English or Literature, but is an endorsement added to one’s Nebraska Teaching Certificate. The Reading & Writing 7-12 Endorsement requires 24 semester hours in educational courses in assessment, young adult literature, teaching writing and tutoring students. A plan of study is required, so contact your advisor immediately after acceptance into the graduate program. This endorsement program can be incorporated into a Master's degree in teacher education.
