Teacher Education Graduate Programs
Reading Endorsement

The Reading Endorsement-only program is primarily for teachers with a Masters in education or a minimum of 12 approved graduate hours in education PLUS two years contracted K-12 teaching experience. After completion of the program, one is eligible to apply for a K-12 Reading Endorsement to be added to their Nebraska State teaching certificate. As a part of this reading endorsement program candidates are required to successfully complete courses during which they will tutor students in elementary and secondary levels.

Students who already have a master’s degree in education may qualify for a Nebraska Reading Endorsement by successfully completing 5 required courses (15 hours) plus one literacy-related elective. A plan of study is required, so contact your advisor immediately after acceptance into the graduate program.
