2010 Special Olympics National Education Conference It’s Our School, Too: Improving School Climate for Youth With Disabilities

Join us for the world premiere of a new play commissioned by Special Olympics’ Project UNIFY program. Based on interviews with youth, It’s Our School, Too explores the current realities for high school youth with intellectual disabilities. Told through different episodes, and using personal narrative and humor, the play brings to life stories about barriers to participation and illuminates ways in which schools can change (and have changed) to be more inclusive.

The play will be performed by actors with and without intellectual disabilities from around the Omaha metropolitan area.
