Content Pedagogy Committee
  • Established in 1997 through the efforts of two departments on the UNOmaha campus.
  • Expanded to include multiple departments in Arts and Science, the College of Education, the College of Fine Arts, the College of Information, Science and Technology and is welcoming to any college, department or individuals on the UNOmaha campus interested in academic collaboration.
  • Membership is accomplished simply by attending one or more meetings of the committee. No dues are collected, anyone can call a meeting or add items to an agenda once a meeting is called.
  • Accomplishments which have grown out of committee efforts include: multiple grant proposals and awards; team teaching; outreach activities with P-12 students in the MOEC schools; joint research projects; and perhaps most important of all "lasting friendships."
  • Most recent committee activity has focused on CEMS 2000: Project Banneker. New courses in mathematics and science have been developed for P-12 teachers, faculty and P-12 professionals have engaged in team teaching, and a continuous dialogue was initiated regarding the project objective to increase participation and performance in mathematics, science and use of technology among P-12 students.
