Teaching Awards

2006-2007 Award Winners

Mary Waugh-Taylor,
recipient of the
Part-Time Excellence
in Teaching Award
Lisa Schniepp,
recipient of the
Joint Appointment Excellence
in Teaching Award

In 1998, the School of Health, Physical Education and Recreation Faculty decided the quality of teaching
by the part-time and joint appointment faculty should be recognized. A committee of full time, part-time and
joint appointment faculty was called together to develop a procedure to recognize the excellent teaching of
part-time and joint appointment faculty.

The procedure calls for soliciting nominations from students and faculty in the Fall and early Spring
semester and selecting the recipients by a committee appointed by the Director of HPER. The selected
faculty members are then given an award at a luncheon in the Spring attended by the full-time, part-time
and joint appointment faculty members and staff.

The nomination process for the 2006-2007 school year began in early November, 2006. All nominations
must be in this year by mid-February, 2007. To obtain a nomination form check with the HPER 207 Office
or go to the HPER Web at Teaching Awards Nomination Form.

For information on this year's winners, see Part-time/Joint Appointment Teaching Awards.
