HPER Staff


Katie Sup Rezac

Katie is the Academic Advisor for the School of HPER. She advises students in Athletic Training, Community Health, Exercise Science, Recreation Administration, & Recreation Therapy. Physical Education and School Health majors are advised by the College of Education Advisors (402-554-2717). In addition to advising, Katie coordinates the recruitment efforts for the School of HPER. Katie completed a Master's degree in College Student Personnel Administration at Illinois State University in 2005 and a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education - Social Studies at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln in 2003. When not working, you can find Katie watching or playing sports. She spends her time playing softball, golf, tennis, and sand volleyball when weather permits.


Mary Sutherland

Mary has been here since HPER was in the basement of the Fieldhouse and supervises
the Academic Office. Mary is the one everyone comes to when they need to know anything. She is
responsible for program administration, class scheduling, statistics and assists the GPC chair. Mary and her husband Cass own a gas station which occupies most of their time. For fun, they love to cook, fish, and spend time with their grandkids.


Rebecca Laferriere

Becky is the first contact to incoming new students when they walk into the HPER department. Her duties are managing graduate student files, the instructor evaluations, tracks grades, and manages work study students. She also provides secretarial support to the faculty. She has recently married, and along her husband and their three children, she likes to spends time with family and friends. In her spare time she enjoys watching movies.


Connie Mowrer

Connie joined HPER in December 1988 as a Secretarial Specialist. She has an Associates Degree from the University of New York. She supervises the office and gives support to the director. Connie has four grown children and 8 grandchildren. She loves to travel to see her grandchildren and take pictures which she shares unmercifully with anyone and everyone. She spends her spare time playing with computers and going through volumes of pictures and movies. She is also into cars and has been known to drag race a 1968 Chevelle down the strip not that long ago.


Lisa Holst

Lisa, BGS, joined the School of HPER staff team in 2000. She originally managed the undergraduate files and was a “First Contact” for incoming students. In the Spring semester of 2004, she was promoted to the position of a Project Assistant for the HPER Biomechanics Laboratory. As Project Assistant, her busy office monitors all grant budgets, assists in annual grant reporting, edits and distributes the HPER Biomechanics Laboratory Annual Report, assists in grant writing, and facilitates the management of an international staff of 10-15 graduate assistants, student workers and volunteers. The director of the HPER Biomechanics Laboratory characterizes her contributions as "invaluable".
