The Fitness Center is an extension of the Exercise Physiology and Biomechanics Laboratories that offers special services to the University and Omaha communities that include:
  • Sports and fitness assessment ranging from VO2 max, lactate threshold, Biodex dynamometry, hydrostatic weighing , gait analysis, etc.
  • Health assessments including cholesterol, resting metabolic rate, blood pressure, and health risk appraisal.
  • Exercise programs for the otherwise healthy population as well as those with special needs (see SELF Program above).
The laboratory is located on the first floor of the HPER Building and is divided into two separate rooms:
  • Cardiovascular/Metabolic Lab
  • Pulmonary/Body Composition Lab.
